On May 6th, a mother in Reno shipped a box of photos chronicling her son's passage through childhood off to Beyond the Trees. On May 28th, with a week to spare before his high school graduation, she was holding a 100-page bookstore quality book containing their best family memories and photos, ready for wrapping.

As a working mom with four teenage boys and a Master's Degree in progress, the thought of sorting through all these photos, selecting which ones to actually include in the book, deciding on color schemes, order, theme, title and text had just been overwhelming. So she had delayed until finally nearly all hope of being able to complete a book was gone. That's when we said - "Just put everything in a box and send it to us."

The box included more pictures than we could use,  sorted into basic piles - With Mom, With Brothers, Vacations, Cousins, Sports, Music, etc. Within days we had culled her photos to the 250 (!) best photos, combed through programs looking for photos and names, and scanned the hard copy items into digital format. A few days later, she was reviewing an electronic draft of her book, including a recommended title. A few last minute changes and voila! The job was done! The only additional piece required of the mom was a heartfelt dedication letter, which she had no trouble writing.

This process repeated itself with a local client, who sent a query to our website on April 28th. He had a folder full of hard copy materials and a graduation deadline of May 28th. His book was in his hands by May 22nd.

In each case, what made these books possible was the willingness of our clients to trust our life experience and book-making expertise and allow us to create the first draft of their book. How much easier it is to react to and edit a draft book than to consider how to create one from scratch. And that's why we're here.

So while we don't recommend cutting things so close to your deadline (first come, first served, after all) isn't it good to know that there are people out there who can help you Make It Happen?
